Little Arsenio dreamed of becoming an inventor. He loved to imagine and build. As every brave person does, he always looked forward. For hours he sat in his little desk with a pencil and paper to figure out what was missing in the world, what things did not exist. In the eighteenth century, Arsenio thought about the future and drew and drew! The stampineta, the calientascopio and Tragaleguas are some of the early experiments that Manuel J. Arsenio described, with amazing detail, in his red book. And fearless as he was, it was not enough only inventing; he also built and tested, to prove his experiments had much impact on his bones as in world history. (Text taken from the book "The Dream of Little Captain Arsenio").
We believe motivating children to connect with their imagination, curiosity and fantasies; finding meaning to their ideas and seeking the ways to express it through writing, illustration or inventions are an essential part of learning… Sharing their creations with others, is the best way to express their values, to experience their potential and have better self-knowledge.
This Year we invite students, families and teachers to find during Book Company´s Book Fairs brilliant ideas to and to create their own inventions together with the ingenious Captain Arsenio and all the great inventors of history.
"Inspiration can be found in a pile of junk. Sometimes, you can put it together with a good imagination and invent something".
